At what age should I treat bedwetting?

  • This depends on a number of factors.
  • Generally, Awakedry recommends considering intervention when the child is around six to seven years of age.
  • If your child expresses anxiety about their bedwetting it is a good indicator to seek treatment.
  • Likewise, if your child is experiencing a high level of embarrassment.
  • The age range of clients treated by Awakedry is five to eighteen years.
  • When your child starts receiving invitations to sleepovers, camping activities and school overnight camps it is worth considering treatment.
  • Family circumstances where the work associated with bedwetting becomes difficult such as the birth of a new child.
  • The time and financial costs associated with long term bedwetting become too great.
